The Department of Microbiology, Al-Azhar College of Arts and Science, Thodupuzha, organized an intercollegiate quiz competition titled “BioQuest – The Ultimate Life Science Challenge” on 11th September 2025. The event was designed to ignite curiosity, foster scientific temperament, and encourage healthy competition among aspiring young minds in the field of life sciences.
A total of 11 enthusiastic teams representing various colleges participated in the challenge, making the event vibrant and intellectually stimulating. The quiz covered a wide range of topics including Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Public Health, and General Life Sciences, testing both fundamental knowledge and application-based understanding.
The programme commenced with a formal inaugural session, followed by 3 quiz rounds such as Multiple choice, Who Am I? and Rapid fire,which kept the participants and audience highly engaged. The competition witnessed keen participation, with teams showcasing exceptional scientific knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork.
BioQuest 2025 served as a platform not only for academic excellence but also for intercollegiate interaction and knowledge exchange. The event concluded with the declaration of winners and a valedictory session, where prizes and certificates were awarded to the top-performing teams.
Through BioQuest – The Ultimate Life Science Challenge, the Department of Microbiology successfully created an enriching experience, highlighting the spirit of inquiry and the relevance of life sciences in today’s world.
