Formation of SPG/CPG Committee
In compliance with the directions issued by the Kerala Police Department and the Circular of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Idukki, Al-Azhar College of Arts & Science, Thodupuzha, has constituted the Student Protection Group (SPG) / Campus Protection Group (CPG) to ensure a safe, secure, and student-friendly campus environment.
The SPG/CPG functions as a collaborative platform involving the institution, students, parents, and law enforcement agencies to promote safety, discipline, and the overall well-being of students.
Objectives of SPG/CPG
- To ensure the safety and security of students within and outside the campus.
- To identify and address issues affecting students' physical, mental, and social well-being.
- To prevent and address incidents related to ragging, substance abuse, cybercrime, harassment, violence, and other anti-social activities.
- To promote awareness regarding legal rights, personal safety, cyber security, and responsible social behavior.
- To facilitate coordination between the college administration, students, parents, and the police department.
- To create a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Functions of SPG/CPG
- Conduct awareness programmes, seminars, and workshops on student safety and security.
- Monitor and report concerns related to student welfare.
- Provide guidance and support to students facing difficulties.
- Coordinate with local police authorities whenever necessary.
- Encourage students to actively participate in maintaining a safe campus atmosphere.

The SPG/CPG committee comprises:
- Principal – Chairperson
- Vice Principal – Vice Chairperson
- Faculty Coordinators
- Student Representatives
- Parent Representatives
- Non-Teaching Staff Representatives
- Police Liaison Officer (as nominated by the Police Department)
The committee functions in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government of Kerala and the Kerala Police Department.
