The Women Cell “Her Bliss” of Al‑Azhar College of Arts and Science organized a special programme titled “Al-Azhar Care on Wheels – Pink Bus: Empowering Women, Ensuring Health.” on 9 th march 2026. The event was conducted in collaboration with Al‑Azhar Medical College and Al‑Azhar Super Speciality Hospital as part of the celebrations of International Women’s Day.
The programme aimed to promote women’s health awareness and provide accessible medical services to women in the community. The initiative highlighted the importance of healthcare accessibility and women’s empowerment through community support.
Several beneficial services were offered through the Pink Bus initiative. Women passengers were provided with free travel facilities, allowing them to reach the venue conveniently. Additionally, free health check-ups were conducted on board the bus by medical professionals. The programme also distributed Al-Azhar Medical College privilege cards, which help women access further healthcare services at the institution.
The main objective of the programme was to promote the concept of “Nattile Ashupathry Nattukarude,” meaning a hospital in the neighbourhood for the people. Through this initiative, the organizers aimed to strengthen community-based healthcare and make medical support more reachable for women.
