Les Lumieres2K21- Book Release: Current Trends in Literature and Linguistics

PG Department of English in collaboration with IQAC, Al Azhar College of Arts and Science, Thodupuzha organised an event of book release to illuminate and inspire the young minds with new arenas of knowledge. Titled as Current Trends in Literature and Linguistics, the book marked a milestone in the history of PG Department of English. The book encapsulates broad range of areas including novel literature, post-pandemic literature,translation studies, language and lingusitics, and films. The new waves in literature and language such as blogging, online poetry,virtual assistant technology,post pandemic theories, computational lingusitics etc form a visible appearance in various chapters of the book. Myriad aspirants of literature and linguistics including students, teachers and scholars all over India have contributed their views and perspectives on the current trends in both literature and linguistics.

The event was conducted on 20 May 2022 at 11.00 am in the college seminar hall. The program was inagurated and the book was offically released by the former Principal and the cheif-editor of the book, Dr Somasekharan B Pillai. Representing the whole institution, Dr Sasidharan V, the honorable Pricipal of Al Azhar College of Arts and Science, received the book with immense delight. The cordial presence of the Vice Principal, Dr Thomas Francis, the heads of various departments, faculties and the zealous students bestowed to the grand success of the program, showering their attention and apprehension.
