The Noorul Islam Trust (NIT) was founded in 1998 with the sublime vision of imparting excellence in education, especially keeping in mind the backward and minority communities in and around Idukki District of Kerala, India. Under the efficient guidance of the founder Chairman Haji K.M. Moosa, the Trust is heading forward as a group of ardent visionaries with prodound experience in the field of education.
The Al-Azhar campus is situated in Perumpillichira, Kumaramangalam Panchayath, 3 KMs from Thodupuzha town, is under NIT. The foundation stone was laid on 21st February, 2002 by Janab Nalakath Sooppy, former Minister for Education, who was keenly aware of the need of the backward communities.
Al-Azhar College of Arts & Science started functioning with first batch of admissions during the year 2003.
The manganimous people of Idukki District have extended their generous hands for the development of the Trust and the college so as to benefit the backward classes as a whole.
