Al Azhar College of Arts and Science has been serving the community with quality education for the last 15 years since its inception in 2003. Al Azhar is offering affordable education to all including the underprivileged and the marginalized sections of the society. As we are on the thresholds of a new academic year, filled with hopes and dreams, I wish to highlight the importance of few things that we have to keep in mind. Parents should see that they are guiding their children to achieve whatever goals they may have in their minds in an easy and pleasing manner. I believe that the purpose of education is to teach our children to think and develop critical faculties so that they can overcome any difficulties of life.

With experienced and dedicated teachers and excellent infrastructure, our college helps students to realize their goals in life. Students should see and realise the importance of planning and prioritizing their time which are very essential to achieve success.

Students shall not fall a victim to the alluring youthful fancies, instead shall learn to enjoy hard work particularly in their studies. The 21st century world demands students to possess skills that would help them to find employment.

I would like to tell my students that our greatest challenge, in addition to the instruction of the prescribed syllabus, will be to impart the most important 21st century skills like:

• The ability to solve new problems and think critically;
• Strong interpersonal skills for communication and collaboration;
• Creativity and intellectual flexibility; and
• Self-sufficiency, including the ability to learn new things when necessary.

So starting from 2018 onwards we are going to introduce add-on courses for all subjects and soft skills training. With a view to improving the employability of the students who pass out from Al Azhar we will be offering coaching for various competitive exams on Saturdays and Sundays. I encourage students to take up add-on courses, soft-skills training and coaching programmes. The next generation faces challenges that many of us never imagined would exist. At Al Azhar, we provide our students with the necessary skills to face challenges, grow, and be successful. We emphasize the development of students who are excellent readers, thinkers, communicators, and citizens of highest character. Students have to be responsible citizens who will preserve our heritage and protect our environment for the future generations.

I consider it as an is an honour and pleasure to daily serve with the faculty members and staff who work hard to help our students achieve excellence and become successful persons.
