NSS; THE NEW ERA BEGIN...

On 21st June 2022, the N.S.S unit of Al-Azhar college of arts and science,perumpillichira,Thodupuzha,Idukki organised a programme about Awareness Campaign-Non communicable Diseases and a class on diet management. The programme was held at 11 am at the college seminar hall. The event started with an NSS song sung by NSS volunteers. The welcoming address was addressed by Mr Anish K S program officer, NSS. The presidential address was addressed by the college principal Dr Sasidharan V, who has graced the occasion and supported all the efforts. The chief guests of the event were Dr T S SurendraNath NCD, Medical Hospital, Thodupuzha and Mrs Bincy Cherian Dietitian, DH, Thodupuzha. The felicitation was addressed by vice-principal, Dr Thomas Francis. The resource person Dr T S Surendra Nath and Mrs Bincy Cherian reflected on their profound knowledge of the topic and highlighted how important to all. They mainly focus on health promotion and prevention which leads all to a healthy life. They teach about eating habits which all have to consume and which we do not. The anchoring was anchored by Khadeeja V S chemistry student with beautiful quotes and The votes of thanks green by Shibana Banu, Ba English student. The main motto of the event is to spread "health is wealth Because without it we are nothing".The screening camp is held for staff about diabetes, Hypertension, obesity..etc. Poster-making competition for Al-Azhar students was held on the topic "Tobacco and Cancer".Lastly, a price distribution session was held for the winners of the poster Designing Competition. Ms Nahidha, program officer, NSS were corroborative and courageous. The teaching and non-teaching staff also have their enormous cooperation in the event. The NSS volunteers were very attentive and generous without whose helping hand this event wouldn’t have been possible.
