Objective

The purpose of disciplinary action is to turn performance, attendance and conduct problems around by continuing to identify problems, causes, and solutions. If you can accomplish this in a positive and constructive way, you will send a message that you are not out to punish, but to help the person accused correct his/her behaviour.

Disciplinary Action Procedure

• The Principal of the college shall be the disciplinary authority in respect of the students in the college.
• If it comes to the notice of the Principal that a student or a group of students have committed misconduct as reffered in appropriate rules, and that the Principal percieves that there is a prima facie material in the allegation against the delinquent student or students as the case may be, he/she shall immediately pass an order suspending the student or students from the college.
• If the Principal believes that delinquency alleged in the complaint requries further investigation or enquiry, he shall report the matter to the Staff Council. After reporting the matter and after seeking the views of the Council, the Principal shall appoint a competent teacher or a team of teachers to enquire into the matter and submit the report at the earliest.
• The enquiry officer so appointed shall conduct enquiry without delay after gathering oral or written evidence from the complaintant as well as the person agisnt whom the allegations/delinquency, were made. The enquiry officer shall also give fair and reasonable opportunity to all the parties and shall submit a report to the Principal. Based on the report the Principal shall take appropriate action, which he deems fit, including:
  1. Impositioin of fine
  2. Issuance of compulsory transfer certificate
  3. Dismissal from the college
• In the event of imposition of punishment, dismissal or compulsory issuance of transfer certificate, the Principal shall forward the copu of the order to the University.
