Student Conduct Policy

Objective

All the students have to strictly follow the rules and regulations laid hereunder for their discipline and development. Violation will entail penal action.

Prohibited Activities

Alcohol, Smoking, Drugs & Narcotic Substances

  • Smoking, consumption of tobacco, pan-masala, liquor, drugs etc are not allowed in the campus. The students are expected to follow this restriction outside the campus also.
  • Students using medicines should get the written permission of the head of the department in writing, along with the prescriprion by a registered practicioner.

Political Activities

  • All students of this college are hereby informed that all sorts of political activities and other activities of students’ organizations supported by political parties are banned in this college campus.
  • Students shall not participate or take part in any such activities, meetings or demonstrations organized or supported by any organization supported by political parties within the campus, and disrupting the classes, or interfering with the peaceful functioning of the college will be treated as breach of college discipline.
  • Organizing meetings, entertainments and collecting money for any purpose on the campus without the prior, written permission of the Principal are strictly prohibited

Ragging

  • Ragging is prohibited and it is punishable and may result in expulsion/ suspension/ fine/legal action
  • According to the Prohibition of Ragging Act, Kerala, 1998, Section 3, the Principal is bound, whenever any student/a teacher /or the parent or guardian of the students, complains in writing about ragging either inside or outside their institution, to take prompt action (by reporting to the police) in accordance with the said Act, in order to nip in the bud the deleterious consequences of ragging, both physical and mental, on the victims.

Vehicular Traffic on the Campus

  • No vehicle is allowed to ply through the campus between 9 am. and 4.00 pm. Vehicles are expected to be parked only in the space provided for the purpose.

Mobile Phone

  • Use of mobile phone and camera is not allowed on the campus. Students can use the pay phones in the college office or the mobile phones with the HoD.

Identity Card and Uniform

Students should wear Proper uniform prescribed by the college and the ID card in the campus.

  • Every student shall possess an identity card issued by the college with the signature and seal of the principal.
  • Students should always carry the identity card with them.
  • The principal shall have the right to send back home any student if he/she doesn't possesses the identity card.
  • If a student leaves the college during class hours he/she should register their passage using the same at the security post.

General Discipline

The following guidelines are given to the students regarding how they should conduct themselves in the college campus. Students of the college shall co-operate with the college authorities and staff to ensure an atmosphere conducive to the academic activities and the overall development of the community and for the maintenance of discipline on the campus.

Rules of General Discipline

  • Students are to keep the lecture halls and premises neat and clean.
  • Students are expected to read the notices put up on the notice board carefully every day.
  • Students shall handle the property of the institution with care.
  • All the students are expected to be on the college premises during the working hours from 9.20am to 4.00pm.
  • The Principal has the rights to ask any student to leave the college and issue the Transfer Certificate at any time during the course of the year on the grounds of indiscipline, unauthorized absence, malpractice and non-payment of fees and dues and any other action that may bring disrepute to the college.
  • Certificate (Transfer, Conduct etc.,) will be issued on the submission of the application.

Good Manners & Behaviour

The following guidelines will help the students to behave in a courteous manner and to maintain general discipline in the college premises.

  • Our mornings begin with a prayer. The students should join the prayer and keep standing till the prayer ends.
  • All the students have to be inside the classroom before the second bell goes. The students have to enter the respective class room after the bell rings for the next hour.
  • Rise from your seats and greet the teacher when he/she enters the classroom. Rise again and thank the teacher when he/she leaves the classroom.
  • All are expected to be punctual and regular in attendance. No student will enter or leave the classroom when the session is on, without the permission of the teacher concerned.
  • Students who happen to have no class should not loiter in the verandah during class hours. They may go to the library and read or finish their assignment/seminar reference work.
  • Students are forbidden to attend or to organize any meeting in the college which is not approved by the college authorities or to collect money for any such purpose. They should not circulate among the students any notice or petition or poster anywhere in the college premises without the written permission of the principal.
  • Students are not allowed to leave the college campus during working hours without the permission of the principal.
  • Our students are expected to hold values, be polite and courteous, respect and greet seniors and authorities both inside and outside the campus.
  • Our students are expected to be clean, tidy and pleasing in appearance. Students should use uniform on all days except Wednesday when they can wear neat casuals.

  • All are expected to keep the college campus, classrooms, verandahs, auditorium etc clean and tidy. Students are expected to be eager and ready to assist the teachers or other staff in keeping our environment healthy and beautiful.
  • If you have any grievance or complaint, approach the grievance redressal cell.
  • Everyone shall use the property of the college with care and preserve the cleanliness of the furniture, building and the campus.
  • Mobile phones shall not be brought to the college. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the examination halls as well.
